Generation Taraddicts: First, thank you for accepting this interview. So can you introduce yourself for the taraddicts who may not know you yet?

Dania Gio: Briefly? Petite. Like most taraddicts have seen for themselves the 12th June! Hahahaha! But you should beware… appearance is not a good support when you have to judge someone. I’m bursting with imagination, just like you! And I love magic! When it comes to music… well I’m a musician (No I’m not pretending to play guitar in the video, lol!) and I still have this urge to become a comedian.

GT: How did you get involved in this adventure?

Dania Gio: It’s been nine years now that I work with a composer with whom I have a really complicit relationship: Yorgos Benardos (composer of “Personne n’est personne”, the musical “Le Roi Soleil”, Sita, Jenifer, etc.) It allowed me to work with Majors on projects like Tara Duncan (ed : She is also the French voice of the Totally Spies opening), and to get to know Sophie whose kindness, universe and personality got me to work on this exciting project. Then I recorded “Sortceliere” in Paris the 12th June… just hours before my first live performance! Memorizing the lyrics in less than half a day was kind of a challenge, but I went back home without rotten tomatoes all over me so… I’m kind of happy! Thank you taraddicts! And the rest… well you already know!

GT: Sophie is the video scenarist… so weren’t you afraid to have to do some… weird things knowing how crazy her imagination is?

Dania Gio: Me ? Afraid ? Hell no ! Myself I’m really imaginative. And I was ready to kiss this toad even though I was really afraid of it. I love this job, so I’m ready to face my fears and if I’ve got to kiss a toad well… BRING IT ON!

GT How was the filming of the video?

Dania Gio: QUICK and great!!! Well… I woke up at 4am and we finished everything at 2am the next day (20 hours of filming!!)… and I wasn’t even tired ! I felt really great. If you want some trivia… the day before, I went to the hair stylist who was charged to do the famous white forelock… and in the end it wasn’t white at all but platinium blonde!! The next day, the dream team did their best to find a Halloween coloration spray on a day of strike! The most painful sequence was when Magister hexes me… I was really throwing myself in the wall… fifteen times! Haha! Not even hurt! But the wall kept my shape! And finally… the toad sequence! Haha! I was shaking with fear just looking at it. It was huuuuuge! Ew! It was very funny when we had to cheer on it to help it pass the jails grids (we were fifteen cheering on it, it was hilarious). It was like : “Go on Titi! Hey Titi, you can do it!” It was so indolent! No stress! A really groovy toad! Hahaha! A better actor than me!

GT: What are your projets? Is there a record coming?

Dania Gio: I’ve been thinking about it for a really long time. It’s a real joy to work on it, but for now I fully live this adventure that is just beginning and, I hope, will continue! I won’t stop here; I’ve got a lot of ideas and things to accomplish. Like working as an actor, which is one of my biggest dreams!

GT: In the end, do you have something to say to the taraddicts who support you now that you are a part of their universe?

Dania Gio: It’s crazy, because before the premiere the 12th June, I was just dead scared that I won’t be able to communicate with you. And you proved me wrong!! When I went on stage and I saw you, standing, totally with me! It was really… magical! You are all wonderful and I’m happy to enter your family. And here’s one of the first things I learnt with you : TARADDICT ONE DAY, TARADDICT EVERYDAY !
